The cambelt is due on my ST170 but after been quoted around £400 to do it I have decided it may be better to do it ourselves, And have a few questions.

How simple is it to do in regards to the vvc? do you need a special locking tool ect?
Any other tips?
The vvc is really the only thing worrying me so any help is appreciated
