You can buy a new lower skirt from VW for around £30 I believe. Bumper comes off nice and simply after removing rear lights, unclip the old one, clip on the new one (use silicone spray to help it clip together) and refit the bumper.
That was a brand new lower skirt mate.....about 3 weeks ago
With it being a GTI one they're slightly more expensive aswell unfortunately so I think it's gonna be cheaper to get mine repaired as opposed to getting ANOTHER new one!
