Get a good one and it will serve you well. Many many more are reliable and trouble free, but you hear about the bad ones, as they're an utter pain when they go wrong (as with all other modern common rail diesels)
I've had more than my fair share of issues with mine, but I'd have one again in a flash.
Be wary of going for a low miler - There's a lot to be said for getting one thats done say 80-90K and has has the injectors, DMF etc already done.
