My YB is making this strange noise, it's been doing it for last 5-6 months probably (I got the car in june this year), I don't remember when exactly it started making it since it got gradually little louder, but the noise level has been same for 5 months i'd say. I haven't driven it much after summer but it worked and still works perfectly though the noise remains. It doesn't drink oil or any other liquid, and coolant is also bright and clear. I have receipt from previous owner that cambelt, water pump, tensioner and engine oil (Castrol 10W-60) have been changed in march 2011, and the cambelt's teeth look very fresh indeed. I changed new oil (Castrol 0W-40) after 6000 km of driving, few weeks ago. This didn't have any effect considering the noise whatsoever.
Strange thing is, that it only makes the noise when its warm. When I start the engine and outside temperature is 0 celsius, it takes minute or two until the engine starts to make the noise, it gets slowly louder as the engine warms. I can't exactly tell where the noise is coming but seems like its coming from the head. Camshaft bearing, valvetrain?
Here's a video if anyone could help..
