Wrong Fuel
Hey Guys - I have got a very sick Ford Mondeo 2003 TDCi, and it needs a doctors TLC, My son put in petrol instead of diesel, realised the mistake and then the bugger topped up with diesel. The car drove for about 8-10 miles and conked out, so I towed it back to the house as it was less then quater of a mile from my house (automatic). Since then I have drained the tank and filled it half with diesel. I have sucked out the diesel through the fuel filter so the lines have diesel in them. I then went ahead and bought a new fuel filter, filled it to the top with fresh diesel and fitted it. again I sucked diesel through the filter to ensure there is no air lock in the filter. Cranked the engine about 50 times but will not fire. I then sprayed Easy Start and it tries to start as long as the quick start is there and then dies. I thought there still might be air in the system so i fitted a manual hand pump from filter to pump and primed the system. Again using Easy Start tried to start it but still the same. I cracked open very slightly the nuts on the injectors to ensure thayt the is fuel and all 4 injectors have good pressure of diesel coming through. So I now have concluded that there is fuel up to the injectors and that there is no air lock. So whay the hell will it not fire. Trying to start it I have now used up 3 cans of Easy start.
Can anyone suggest what else I can try - I did think about towing but unfortunatly it is an automatic.
Can someone please throw any light on this, anything would be seriously appreceiated.
