ideally you should measure the length before you first use them. I've never found one that has stretched though so you will more than likely have no problem re using them.

Agreed, they nearly always seem to spring back, only ever had one stretch and it was secondhand before it got to me and had probably been overtightened previously or may even have been a copy sadly!
