Thermostat is easy enough to do, but then if that were faulty you would normally notice it in that it will either overheat or not get to running temperature.
VSS will cause the speedo problem you have and it can also effect the driveability of the car, it may also be causing the idle issue as well so my advise would be to fit the VSS first and then go from there.

Would the vss make the car cut out because when the speedo done it today I notice that the car felt like it diead and start again when I put my foot down this car is doing my head in now because not got a clue wot is wrong and no one seems to no wot is wrong wot can be making it b like this
