If it is the plates, just pack them so less of the friction plates are touching each other; it will be quite simple when you pull it apart. There's a rough guide that will give you a better idea printed in September 2011 Classic Ford magazine
Yeah i did read that in classic ford and i think your right about the ramp angles .
I get this noise when i turn into a junction at a slow speed nothing when im going straight only when i turn into junctions or roundabouts .I was running a 4,1 cwp but sent it away to Burtons and had 3,54 fitted and they set it all up and then i fitted it all back on the car the i notice the noise as if its trying to lock up .
