Timing an engine 180 degrees most of the time will not cause any issued apart from non running, i once timed an engine 180 degrees out and it was fine once the mistake was spotted, its possible because the cams turn at half the speed of the crank so the timing marks will line up when 180 degrees out. You will have basically timed the engine to BDC instead of TDC.
If the engine is running then i suspect the timing of the cams is ok as it would not run at all 180 degrees out.
check the fuel pump timing.
new glow plugs
check for air leaks
