I think I'd rather use 10 than 8. I presume there is a good reason why most people use 6 then use stock bolts on the outer edge but I've never heard the reason.

I believe the Mountune studs are also worth considering, however I know you need take a bit of the socket in a lathe, not exactly a major drama though
