Tuning companies usually rolling road the car to see what your car is performing at , and to find out what bhp your car is they print out a dyno graph. you get a lot of people claiming that their car is 1000bhp or some stupid unrealistic figure but until theres proof of a dyno graph consider them talking shit! thers quite a bit of banter on passionford in regards to people claiming their car is faster than supercars but nevermind hey!

when your running a turbocharged engine you should get it mapped around once a year. just to make sure everything is running sweet.

you can also get you car live mapped. have a look at stu's link from msd http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/whatismap.html

theres loads of info out there just read mate. its interesting stuff.

jano from oddkidd mapped my escort, and he done a bloody good job of it!
The cars don't come "limited" at all, the problem is the car maker does not do a different map for every different country, so the car has to cope with missed services shit fuel etc in all climates, luckily in the uk our fuel is good, mapping/chipping exploits the potential that has not been exploited to it's fullest extent by the car maker for the fuels of that country, and the maker needs to consider other criteria as well.
Turbo cars tend to have a lot more potential to gain, as boost can be increased easily.
Dyno printouts can be total bull shit as well, some dynos for example don't have enough inertia/mass to measure trans loss figures, these are supplied on a CD ROM, and some are total guesswork on the RR suppliers part.
There are many cars on pf that will slaughter most supercars, not hypercars, power to weight is a good deciding factor, though at higher speeds drag comes into it big time.
There's genuine 200mph cars on pf, like rods.
It's complete shit that it needs mapping once a year if it's turbo'd, a fuelling check is a good idea, but if the map is out every year there is a serious problem with the tuner or car.
