Nope, not to check the inlet side at least. Just crank the engine round till all / most of the inlet valves are shut. I didn't know how to do it scientifically, so just rotated the engine by hand till the air leaks stopped and the pressure gauge started to climb

Then whacked in the air to 40 psi and started tightening stuff up!
