just returned from my annual trip to le mans...another good weekend in france. been discussing with my friends over what car to replace the RS with as a weekend runner. 911's cropped up (alongside TVR's.... ) but i discovered i know little about them.

saw a few over the weekend, really likes the look of the 993 carrera S (widebody) but was shocked to find how much they are, why do you need 20+k to buy a 993 when 15-20k will get a nice 996, are they appreciating classics (i know the turbo's are) do they have known faults etc.

a few years back, 2005, i did a porsche driving day and droev the then current 911, which i am guessing would have been a 996 carrera 2S.....this is another i would consider as it was a great drive.

my planned budget will be 20k and to keep it as a weekend car...where would my money best be spent.....considered a boxster but foudn them a little cramped after driving the 911, drove a boxster s (2005) on that same porsche day

advice anyone?
