We all know the 10% + 3 rule hence the reason motorway traffic regualarly travels at 80mph (in non rush hour). Is this a hard and fast rule or something people just live by?

Has anyone been caught going between 70 and 80 on a motorway as I imagine Police would be a bit stricter on dual carriageways.

By caught I mean by Police car not fixed cameras as they would be set to the speed limit.

Would be interested to know if anyone has been caught though.

Not a thread to condone speeding or encourage top speed reports on public roads either
