No if it is turned on and working it doesn't then go in to protect whilst in use, it is only when i turn the car on that it happens sometimes, as i say its not every time.
Its been like it with 4 head units, one of them i used to turn it off and back on again and the amp would turn it on, one of the others if i flashed the head lights it would turn it on
, the last one and this brand new one, it just happens sometimes and only at the point of turning the car on...
what gets me is that if there was something really wrong with it, it wouldn't turn on sometimes at all?
sounds like power supply to me, not to up to date on the equipment your using i always used Rockfo rd gear. if it was me i would investigate the power lead if it's drawing alot current look at using a farad cap or a second battery with a split charge kit.
