sounds more like a power problem though, as you switch from battery to alternator power perhaps a power spike.?
how have you got it wired with the live.?
The live runs fused from the battery to the boot, as you would expect..?
If it was doing it all the time i think I'd agree, but its not every time, its really weird and has had a few people baffled with it!
