Looks like its time to start looking at another engine for my MK1 Focus.
Starting to get some blue smoke on heavy acceleration and in the high rpms so it seems the piston rings are starting to go
One option is to just replace it with another 1.6 motor. The only reason id consider this is due to the 'sell on' factor (would sell the car as OEM in the future, probably part ex it), but since it wont be the original engine anyway, regardless of size, it will affect the resale value. So the best idea would be to change it to a larger engine? (Insurance is all A'Okay)
Options?
>2.0 blacktop
>ST170 (heard that running a stand-alone means that you dont have to worry about changing the fuel tank and lines? Although that isnt something im particularly worried about)
>RS (VERY hard to find one at the moment, especially at a decent price)
Whilst im not looking to spend £1000's, i dont mind in spending a bit extra to get more benefits. Any other potential engines? 2.3 out of the Galaxy? Duratec?
