Hello again,
sorry to revive this thread,
i had a key cut yesterday (blade with horseshoe, so i just swapped for the old blade and kept transponder),
when i tried it on my car, both door and ignition, it wouldn't turn, it also felt a little awkward on getting it into the barrel, not as smoothe as the old key,
i took it back to Timpsons where i had it cut, they filed it down a little and still no joy

, the fella there remarked that it could be the barrels being worn, if the state of my old key is anything to go by,
is this likely to be the case (the car is a 2001), or is it more likely to be poor workmanship on their part.
and is it worth trying to smoothe down my key with either a file or sandpaper, or am i likely to completely bugger it up.
i've tried comparing the keys to see if the cuts are similar, and they do appear to be correct, but as i said, my old key is worn and very very smoothe, i will post pics if needed.
thanks in advance for any help.
Neil.
