Is your gearbox oil level correct, as in not super low, as this will make the box easier to spin, whereas the small drag caused by the oil stops it turning so freely and helps with this problem.

yep which would cause the clutch to be permanently engaged as the wrong side is butted up against the flywheel not saying it is just a thought
