that explains all there.

if you keep the chasseur ID you can get away with it as the rear beam and suspension etc are not ID'd and not able to be dated, so they cannot prove they came from another vehicle and hence you can get round the rules of the "unmodified original shell" and "two major componants".

remember its what they/you can prove that matters, not the truth.

As a chasseur you need only inform them of colour change and engine number. they often ask for proof the engine swap was done as well. They have no way of knowing youve rebuilt it from a bare shell unless your stupid enough to tell them. Its unlikely a colour change and engine swap would pull you up for a VIC unless someone has grassed you.

mines registered as a rebuilt puma. It was built from a brand new bodyshell issued with a DVLA VIN number after it was inspected by the DVLA inspector. slightly bent the rules to get round the SVA but thats their loss as its correctly registered so they cant prove anything.
