No rad will "run hotter", or cause the engine to run hotter unless it can't disipate the heat fast enough.
Any alloy rad will be more than up to the job heat wise, if the std rad is copper then that will all things, ie surface area being equal disipate more heat, but alloy is more than up to the job.
If using with a 500 cooler this will limit airflow slightly, but still won't be a problem on a stage 3 2wd.
I use airtec myself, very thick material used and very strong, I wouldn't buy one of the big name ones just on name alone.
