Do you not have a a handbook, as that lists them, if not buy a haynes manual as that will hopefully list them, or find someone with a mark4 who will let you have a look at the handbook and photocopy the relay positions if listed.
It defo isn't right, if one is the pcm(as I think ford called it at the time) relay this would stop power to the ecu and hence coil/spark, it would also stop fuelling.
