As title really, do they have to be upright, or can they be mounted on their side?

and was wondering if it would work correctly?

(I want to keep it as I had custom braided lines made up to keep the accumulator and don't want to buy new lines. Plus I think the accumulator looks quite trick in the fuel line.)
