they are good for rs turbos as its an easy way to adjust the boost because the actuator is a pig to get to
but for a cosworth not needed in any way at all
makes them a safer option if they stay under the bonnet and not dash mounted
and can be locked to a certain boost level so can be used to lower the boost as much as raising it
not everyone wants to run full boost all the time say depending on weather conditions etc
