You NEED a Silver Calcium battery, using a lead acid will cause problems and it is actually dangerous to so as the battery can explode as the silver calciums are charged at a higher rate.

The battery is NOT charging this is why the light is coming on and is reflected in the fact the power drops to below 10V!
