My gf's dad has a 52 plate mk1 1.6 zetec focus and its got really really bad piston slap by the sound of it, garage said its either the crankshaft or a piston, but today he put it back in for them to get the head off for a look and they have said the engines goosed.

So my questions are, are the mounts for the 1.8 or 2.0 the same as the 1.6? & are the mk2 engines the same as the mk1's? if not will they fit the mounts anyways?

Are there any differences in the likes of the ghia's or lx?

Basically would either engine drop straight in, the 1.8 & 2.0 seem much cheaper than the 1.6 engine on ebay.... so I was thinking why not get a bigger engine while hes at it

Any help would be great
