The mindsets of some people are mental - Escorts and Sierra can be expensive, but aren't allowed to be cheap. Sapphires can be cheap, but aren't allowed to be expensive
Yeah and a Sapphire underneath

No the Escos was more expensive (And the ST even more so), but totally agree with you otherwise, it's the same story with the 3DR and Saph, the Saph was the more expensive car new, but now some people consider it the lesser car because it's now worth less plus the fact there are more of them to start with than the 3DR, at the end of the day the Saph has many advantages over a 3DR the main being the stiffer shell, also as been said it's a known fact the 2WD Saph is the best driver of the lot! The very reason for it's introduction was because business man etc wouldn't be seen driving the 3DR, nor does it have half the equipment the Saph has, I am an owner and a massive enthusiast of both and of course the Escos but don't see any of them being lesser than the other, they all have there good points.
But to answer the OP question no as with all the Cosworths the value is only going to rise, Escos I can see remaining at the top due to the History and the limited production run and the 3DR won't be far behind either.
It is possible to pick an MOT'D Saph up for 3K plus but it would be a total dog otherwise and that was a few years back, prices have gone up now.
