your right on one count a 3 to 4K sapphire will be a pile of crap unless your very lucky but nowerdays at this price range they do need a very very hard looking over before you part with your hard earned
as to a standard sapphire breaking for 4K sorry mate your a million miles away,you will struggle to get 2.5K in bits e bay has de valued the parts to the point of them being at scrap yard prices
