so true!!!I was never a fan of the old text system of 160 characters so I tended to make a brief call instead, but I'd talk so fast (which is a trait of the welsh!!) as I was afraid of using up my minutes so it would be "yeah, see u in 5,I'm on my way" all in about 2 nano seconds!!!
As for abbreviations and text speak, the only one I tend to use are IMHO,afaik, very occasionally u if I miss the wrong button on the I phone and tbh.
I've found myself using lol too much lately, must learn!!
A lot of this text speak I believe comes from the younger generation, poor writing etc.(not ect what the fuck is that????) where I think it's now so commonplace that even teachers, lecturers etc ignore it.
There was a lad on yesterday looking for advice regarding engine conversions into an rst for a college project, the thread dave got banned on!! Ok,Dave did his usual bull in a china shop approach to point out the young mans poor grammar and spelling issues but it does prove a point, that we are producing a generation of children that IMO (

) will struggle to be able to write a letter,cv or other important document without the assistance of someone else.
I'm certainly not tarring them all with the same brush, darylc on here is a good example of an intelligent young man able to express himself through writing rather than text speak, something I personally still believe is a very important skill in life.
Yh,get bk 2 wk u fkn muppetzzz,lol!!!Ect ect (arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).
