Plug everything in, except one end of the diode.
Start the engine. Leave it running for a couple of minutes.
What happens to the light ?
With the engine still running, have you got 12V at the green ECU relay terminal 30 (without unplugging the relay, so just pull it out of its socket slightly until you can get your multimeter lead in there, or a short piece of wire) ?
