I would say that having a mint motor in a garage never to be driven in case it gets dirty is sad too.

While I see your pont that there aint much use in a blank firing weapon, I am sure battle re-enactment people have a use for them.
Why do I keep them, I guess it is because I can no longer own the real mccoy in this country because of the government, it is in effect the closest I will own to the real thing in terms of noise and recoil, and my son loves firing a few rounds off too.
