i really think blanks are sad as fuck........whats the point of having a weapon you cant use lol
i was gutted when handguns were banned back in 96/97 as i spent every single weekend shooting all over the country (i was 14) another year and my cousin and i would have shot for england.... we made our own bullets our guns where all custom modifed and when it got banned the government paid us a lot of money. i hate looking at guns as there is only one way to look at them and thats when your sights are on target.

I would say that having a mint motor in a garage never to be driven in case it gets dirty is sad too.
While I see your pont that there aint much use in a blank firing weapon, I am sure battle re-enactment people have a use for them.
Why do I keep them, I guess it is because I can no longer own the real mccoy in this country because of the government, it is in effect the closest I will own to the real thing in terms of noise and recoil, and my son loves firing a few rounds off too.

oh, dont think that just cos its a blank firing gun, if someone breaks in and you stick it in their face and tell them to suck you off while you ring the cops, dont lol
back in the 80's my godfather was staying over at my mum and dads, dad awoke in the night to the sound of someone trying to hotwire the godfathers mini that was parked on the drive..
now dad used to work on a farm and has a lovely 12bore, that he has owned for at least the last 50 years, and popped outside with it, unloaded, to ask the cunt what he was doing...
some pissed up squaddie then falls to his knees begging for his life, father, husband etc etc while the old dear phones the cops.
they turn up, arrest dad, stick him in the cells for the night, and let the wannabe car theif go on the spot....
justice eh

all handguns are mate. But there talking about blankfiring. Which are a 'model' that fires blanks. There not anything like a live gun.

These are replicas, euro spec blank firers are illegal in this country due to a portion of the barrel having the facility to fire signal flares.
Uk spec blank firers are top/side venting.
nowadays, blank firers and airsoft weapons are normaly coloured to look less like a real weapon

What type of blank firers are you thinking of? Because it's nothing like the ones I am.
They are, but you can get certain ones that have to have a total length of over 24". Revolvers with wrist rests are quite popular actually.

Water pistols dont count half the shit on a blankfirer doesnt work because it use's a standard firing system unlike the original its based on. Just cos they load fire and eject a round doesnt mean it's the same. You look at a colt gov auto/1911 or anyone of the spin off's. Its probably one of the most simple handauto's ever made! You look at the brunil(?) variant of blankfirer and its completly different. All internals. safety, slide lock dont even work, so no there fuck all like a real one. The closest one has ever come to been a real type was the last issue of the glock17 and that was shit lol

Mate of mine used to have a Brocock air pistol revolver that used air cartridges, fun to shoot but a major PITA to pump the cartridges back up !

I'm pretty sure they got banned as they were so easy to covert to use real ammo.

taken from the Firearms act
6.15.2 UK Specification Imitation Blank Firearms
Imitation and replica firearms designed and chambered to fire blank ammunition without a projectile have been legitimately available for sale in the UK without any requirement for firearm certification for many years. Typically such firearms will be realistic in appearance but constructed of base metals and alloys. The hot gases produced by firing a blank cartridge in the chamber would typically be vented through an aperture close to the chamber and set at an acute angle to the axis of the bore of the barrel. The barrel would usually be fully blocked. This configuration for a UK marketed blank firing replica is arrived at in order to comply with the Firearms Act 1982 which established the criteria for determining whether an imitation firearm is readily convertible (to fire a shot bullet or missile).
