You close the butterfly and excess boost back up and pushes its way back through the turbo THE WRONG WAY and the noise is the blades chopping the air up. Now your turbo is stalled you have lost boost?? You dont want turbo stall
Here goes another debate. Surely to actually "stall" a spinning turbo you would need more pressure returning than the actually boost itself? You think how fast those blades are spinning, and the shape they are to force airflow effectivly one way. Rushing air the other way would need a hell of alot to actually stop them.
Also, Between gears, a d/v realeases all boost pressure so the turbo needs to charge the cross over again before power returns. I found My erst running 15psi has less "lag" between gears without a d/v.
The other thing, My Turbo is nearly 3 years old now, every day car, running 17psi, not even a hint of shaft play. So it cant be that bad surely?
