I suppose its obvious, if you live 2 miles away from a MOT station then why would you be driving say 10 miles to a different one?
i know there could be lots of reasons, but to the police they dont care about those "reasons" do they.
I'm 99% sure that it doesn't have to be your "nearest" test centre, the same question was raised a few weeks back and the answer then was that you could book it in anywhere you wanted providing you took the most direct route.
