I have a K Reg Transit recovery truck but recently it been hard to get it into reverse and now first gear is playing up too if i turn the engine off then it will go in gear i can start engine and drive off or reverse ??

also once in gear i have to have me foot on the brake as the truck creaps forward ?

is this clutch problem / stretched cable / gearbox problem

i have had to different merchanics tell me two different things one says clutch one says gearbox

anyone know more
