i don't too as you but i payed £80 for my coarse shimano reel they where selling close tho the £120 mark but it is really nice to use, i rercently bought a browning baitrunner as my mate borrowed my daiwa ages ago and then lost it and it seem's a little tacky compared to my shimano but then it only cost £30 so to be expected.
