parrot fish and angels are both cichlids kinda, altho i dont really agree with parrot fish as they were a genetic creation originally, and they are died fish which isnt good!!!! angels need a large tank and can be fairly aggresive but this is quite rare,
it is okay to keep them with neons but you'd be better off with cardinals, they are basically the same fish but they grow to maybe 1 inch inch n half mayb.
DO NOT buy a common plec unless uve got a tank thats a 100gal or more no matter what any1 tells you DO NOT! they can grow to over a foot in length!!!
i keep discus and have kept all the community fish you can keep, if you want any advise im more than happy to help if i can im not an expert but like to think ino my stuff,
the main thing to do is your OWN research never believe what any pet shop tells you cos there jsut wanting to make money,
angels are quite slow growing and would be okay in a smaller tank for a while but not permenant. dont buy parrots or african cichlids, they require different water parameters,
if your a beginer i would say a group of cardinals there a hardy fish and a shoaling fish so a group of 6 or more, and as a centre piece fish maybe gouramis or small angels. as for cats dont buy any synodontis's unless you have a large tank or any pictus' get a few corys there also a shoaling fish, and if you do want a plec then go for a bristle nose plec, but dont pay over inflated prices, they are very very common.
