Right mine has started to lose oil.
Its an EFi CVH engine, and appears to be coming out of the airbox (via the breather pipe)
Have cleaned the breather pipes out.
* Airbox to breather unit
* Breather unit to rocker
* Breather unit to head
All the above are nice and clear.
And 'tried' to clean the big one from rocker to block. Couldn't get the pipe off the block... But sent a bit of heavy duty cable down there and pulled a load of sludgy stuff out. There was no airflow before i started but after a few plunges with some cable and a bit of rag, there is 'some' airflow now. I dont know how much airflow there should be coming out of there, but i can happily put my finger over the end and theres no pressure build up.
And it's still piddling oil out of the airbox.
So is it this big breather thats still at fault (i.e. - needs more sump-off declogging), or is it more than likely going to be piston rings?
Also im thinking that the black breather unit may be in need of replacement. When i pull the small breather off the engine picks up and revs a lot faster. Black breather unit appears to be restricting it a lot - is this normal?
Any info - much appreciated
