bus companies put up a bond of a few milloin £ to cover themselves and don't actually have any "insurance" with a company
they pay out of their own pockets so they defend to the hilt any claims against them as they have to pay out of their own pockets/budgets

the driver doens't legally have to give you anything other than his name and point to the little sticker on the side of the bus that tells you who it belongs to
you have taken good pics though of the bus number, the reg number and the driver so they will be albe to find out who it is
what you should have also done was found out what his route number was, normally displayed on a card in the windscreen so that they can place the bus and the route at that particular time and find out who they paid to cover that route
you'd never used i used to be a bus driver or that i filled in plenty of accident form for peeps in my time
the bus company will look at the form and think "we can get away with dragging this out for a few years" and file your forms in the bin
we don't have to give our name we give a blue slip with our staff number bus number on it and that's it. We collect there name address phone number car details then any witnesses details we can obtain.
