The bearings are more accepting of a bit of shite going through them (filter on GT30 solves this problem) and the shafts are more capable of withstanding surge/chatter when you back off (dump valve for the GT30 solves this problem)
The most common reason T34's dont last long is when people try and overspin them trying to get 400bhp out of a 380bhp turbo etc.
GT30 are a great turbo, but as a "direct swap" for a T34 which may not have an oil filter or a dump valve on it, its not a good idea.
