I saw a vid a couple years back. And as the car pulls up to the barrier. The marshall is looking straight into the camera. And the driver isn't allowed through. Basically if they look they'll see it. And I dunno how easy it is to remove that camera if they make you.
Wish I could find it now. IIRC it was on a E30 BMW.
Best system I've seen used is to attach it to the sunvisor with cable ties then flip it down once on the track. And back up when in the car park. Like this,

Obviously if you do it better than that
you'll get a good view of the road. Not just one side. Maybe pack it out on one side with some cardboard. I'd also sugest filming something more interesting than traffic lights in Guildford
