As an extreme example. The best 0-100km/h times were achieved with using second gear only. When power is everywhere, shifting just loses time.
I've had all the ratios, started from 3.84 then to 4.27 and now happiest at 3.54.
I to have used all of those final drives and much prefer 4.27 for normal driving, it's just at cruise you are high up in the revs, 3.52 is a joke for road use I could do 20-110mph in 3rd gear when I was using that FD might as well have been an automatic!
