back to the wet vs dry though, youve got to remember that its a ford so any time in the rain and there will be no sills and arches by the time you get home

As said it's the other way round 2WD was faster than 4x4 from day 1 the 4x4 was the slowest of the range both acceleration and top speed due to transmission losses.
I personally have 2WD as don't like anything else full stop.
One is not better than the other really, apart from your preference as to which wheels the power is delivered to, the 4x4 has a stronger 200 block, not that the 205 in the 2WD is incapable at sensible power some even run 500+ HP on 205 and there ok, but 2WD has stronger transmission so horses for corses.
