Cheap and simple way to start rectifying mate wouldn't be surprised if it was the fuel filter. If you fill the tank up a decent amount say £30-£40 worth does it still do it? If not points to fuel filter.

could be filter, poss a split in the plenum/inlet gasket as my last cossie did it. if u spray some easy start or something over the inlet you'll know if theres an air leak or not, eliminates it anyway.
I'll change the fuel filter and then i'll try the easy start mate if it persists.
