Ford Focus II
Took the Focus in for an MOT today and it failed miserably!
The fails are below
Brake pedal anti slip rubber worn (Corrected, swapped for clutch rubber)
Left and right front position lamps not working (Correct, wrongly diagnosed as sidelights were and are working)
Left and right rear indicators lacking amber (Corrected new bulbs fitted.)
Power steering leak
Rear parking brakes recording little or no effort (I think it recorded 10% when min was 16%)
Front brakes imbalanced
What a nightmare, I thought it would be ok.
The powersteering is leaking slightly from what I think is the pipe before the pump, apparently a comon problem on the Focus? Should this fail the MOT anyone suggest anything I can do to get me through the MOT on this one, I'm going to clean the whole underbody of the car to get rid of the crap and make it look a bit better underneath.
Brakes however are a problem - do you think it just needs handbrake adjusting?
Not sure about the fronts being unbalanced?
Any advice is really appreciated MOT expires Wednesday
