Not sure I've been depressed, but I have felt very low, so I possibly suffered from a mild form of depression over a few months. The way I got out of it was to seriously focus on keeping busy, not giving myself time to think about whatever it was which made me feel bad about myself/my situation.

I've wanted to play rugby properly again for a while, but never took the required steps towards that, in fact with my lifestyle being the way it was.. I was actually moving further and further away from being able to play again.

So I've seriously focused on sacking off the takeaways and booze, and tried very hard to get into a routine of going to the gym and working on my fitness generally... pre-season training starts in July and so far I've lost just over 4 stone and still have a fair way to go before I'm able to play rugby at a proper level again, but I think I'll come on faster once the season starts and I'm able to work back into match fitness in the 2nd or 3rd team.

In addition to my fitness stuff, I've re-connected with old friends that I'd lost touch with and have found myself a lot of various things, places and people to see rather than being stuck in the same rut that I was before.

I'm not saying its easy because it definitely isn't an easy road to take.. as I said, I was probably at most in a 'mild depression' so for people who are deeper state than me it could well be that there are other things which need to change, or support which needs to be in place (councelling/medication) before you focus on doing the things I did.

All the best though, there are plenty people on here who are around to chat if you need it.. by all means ping me a PM and I'll chat to you if you see me online and you need a blether with someone.

Cheers,
Grant
