I got in my ST200 this morning and the battery light was flickering when I started it so revved it and it glowed brightly which I thought was strange as normally when a battery light comes on and you rev it it goes out. Anyway I drove to work and the light is off at idle and low revs but as soon as you rev it or go over 2500-3000rpm it glows bright.
I tested the battery and alternator and the alternator is charging at 11.5v at idle under no load and at 11.3 with all lights on so obviously alternator not charging properly.
Just been looking through the net and apparently theres a common problem with some wiring to it? Does anyone know anout this or should I just put a alternator on? Are they a big job to fit aswell?
