how is 1/2 x 1/2 a quarter? that makes no sence to me, must be getting old cause if i have half an inch times half an inch i have an inch
if you you divide a number by a number less than one it increases the origional number, if you multiply a number by a number less than 1 it goes down.
so 1 * 0.5 = 0.5 which is same as 1 * 1/2 = 1/2
0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25 which is same as 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4
