I had something similar. Had had a properly shit day and was driving south, been stuck in traffic for ages and finally saw the outside lane was clear, pulled into it and 'stretched my legs' - saw a black 3 series BMW creep up behind me, i figured he wanted to play so squeezed the pedal a bit more... about 20 seconds later his grille lit up with blue flashing lights
Unmarked car and they'd recorded my average speed at WELL over 100, we had the 'chat' and they explained about how over 100 was a ban and talked through everything that would happen about court appearances etc. I was thinking "Bollocks. I've fucked up here." at this point
And then he said, "However, at speeds of up to 95mph I have the discretion to deal with this as a fixed penalty of £60 and 3 points if you'll accept that?".
I couldn't agree quick enough
