Car wont start unless timing is advanced, when catches retard timing and runs sweet as a nut, when warm autochoke cuts off, ticks over nicely and runs well.

Would appear to be a fuelling prob of some sort as try to start and it wants to fire but wont until timing is advanced.

Spark is there all the time (New Dizzy and Coilpack), Fuel pump primes when switch ignition on.

Car is a 1990 ERST, recently undergone full engine rebuild, cam, followers, tappets, head gasket set, bottom end, rings etc.

Always started on the button before rebuild but big ends were rattling and so was the cam hence full rebuild.

Is getting on my tits now, shame I don't have a box of matches handy.
